I was searching the web yesterday when I saw the new Google doodle. It's kind of familiar so I clicked it and it was redirected to Akira Yoshizawa. I got curious why Google is commemorating his birthday and then I knew that he was considered the grandmaster of Origami.

I am a big fan of Origami and made some of them before though I am not that skilled. But I love the art that can be made just by simply folding a piece of paper. So in cooperation with the celebration of the birth of Akira Yoshizawa, I am posting the origamis I made before. It's nothing fancy but I love them. :D
These are the origamis I made way back 2009 when I tried to study more elaborate origamis. Back when I was child I just do simple origami like boat, plane, cup, box, crane (the incorrect one), heart and polo shirt.
Heart Origami |
This is one of simplest origami I learned when I was in elementary in
the Philippines. Maybe the reason why it was a popular origami at that time because it is one heck of an impressive way to fold
love letters, haha. Aaaaaaaaahhh Puppy love, wahahaha...
Crane Origami (Tagak in Tagalog) |
The story behind this crane origami was that all this time I thought I was doing the correct way of folding it. I realized that I'm doing it wrong (though not completely) was when I searched about 1000 cranes last year. There are some steps that I skipped which can make the final outcome more crane-like. Try not to judge my work that much. :p
When I moved here in Dubai, I don't have any hobbies or anything to pass the time or do after work hours. One day I thought why not do Origami again I loved doing it and it'll be fun and at that point I decided I need to learn other origami pattern. So upon searching on the web, Youtube and others I made these little cutties. Mostly, I got the instructions from Youtube, it's easier because it's step by step. I'll try to find the links and post them here.

This was I could say on the intermediate level of Origami. It has a lot of stages and a lot of folding. Good thing it worked for me in the end.

For me, Origami is a form of stress reliever. I enjoyed every fold I make and every piece that I finish and I think it is rightful that I should thank Sensie Akira Yoshizawa for his contributions in keeping the art of origami alive and successfully passing it on to the next generations not just in Japan but worldwide. Arigato Gozaimasu Ta, Sensie AKIRA YOSKIZAWA!
P.S.
I have an upcoming project that has to do with Origami. Hopefully it will it turn out great! Gambarimasu!
